- I have a Gateway 2000 Telepath II v (14400) modem that supports voice
- mail. I use it as a data modem and as an answering machine (software
- FaxWorks 3.0). I have three problems about the voice part of the modem:
-
- * I have tried to use power management facilities (BIOS Setup and
- Win'95) while the computer works as an answering machine but it in this
- case the modem does not answer to all the phone calls. Does somebody
- know if energy savers can affect modem behavior?
-
- * the modem (or software?) does not stop recording a message when the
- other part hangs up. Is there a setup switch that I missed?
-
- * What is the specification for sampling the input in a voice modem.
- Is there a standard or useful references (books, magazines)?
-
- Thanks,
-
